OTHER PLACES TO MEET LISA ROBERTS

  •  FROZEN IN TIME  - Wednesday 26th April, 2006 (8:30am)  Flanders House, Evans Street
Tom Roberts painted images of things being lost to the Australian ethos; bushranging, blade shearing, the glory of male labour, and in doing so conserved the moment. This forum examines our own ways of conserving the moment. Keynote Speaker Julie McCrossin along with Lisa Roberts, Professor John Lester, Sheridan Burke, Assoc. Prof. Janis Wilton and Joe Eisenberg.

  • ROBERTS ON ROBERTS LECTURE AND DINNER - Wednesday 26th April, 2006 (7:30pm)  Inverell Golf Club
She will talk about "family memories" of Tom Roberts and give us an insight into her journey to become an artist recognised in her own right, working in media completely different to her famous ancestor (interactive media, film, and print).

Her work includes installations Roget's Circular and 42 Days held in Melbourne (2001) and Sydney, the latter describing the trip she did as part of her Humanities berth on the Aurora Australis V7 with the Australian Antarctic Division.

  • ARTIST IN RESIDENCE OPEN DAY - Saturday 29th April, 2006 (12:00 noon) Evans Street outside Art Gallery
Watch or even try your hand at painting, collage, dyeing, quilting; chat to the Artists in Residence Jane Gibson, Lisa Roberts and Jenie Clough in the studio studio set up at the Street Party.
