Associate Professor Janis Wilton teaches Australian history at the University of New England in Armidale. Her areas of research and teaching expertise focus particularly on oral history, ethnic community history, and history and museums. She is a well recognised public historian with a range of experience working with community groups, and with a variety of multimedia, internet, print and audio products.

Janis is the Coordinator of the University’s local, family and applied history awards, the immediate past President of the International Oral History Association http://www.ioha.fgv.br, a member of the National Executive of the Oral History Association of Australia http://www.ohaa.net.au and a Trustee of the Historic Houses Trust of NSW www.hht.nsw.gov.au.
