TOM ROBERTS RETRACED
Inverell will again celebrate Tom Roberts' affiliation
with the district through his 12 paintings, some of which include 'The
Golden Fleece', 'Shearing at Newstead' (AGNSW), 'Bailed Up' AGNSW
and 'In a Corner on the Macintyre' (NGCanberra).
Complimenting this occasion will be a '9 x 5' Exhibition
and Competition where celebrities and artists have been invited to submit art
works on a small canvas, inspired by the theme of 'Tom Roberts
Retraced.
The Heidelberg School (based in Artists Camps at
Heidelberg, NE of Melbourne and at Mosman Bay, Sydney (1880 -1890) was
attended by Tom Roberts who led a group of young impressionist artists.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- Theme of Exhibition - 'Tom Roberts Retraced'
- Entry to each section to be 9" x 5" (inches) and
submitted ready to hang.
- All entries in each section to be in any medium and
should be the original work of the competitor and not
previously exhibited at The Inverell Art Gallery.
- Entry Fee $10 Sections 1 & 2 and $5 Section 3
- Entry forms to be returned by 7th April 2006.
- All exhibits to be received by the Inverell Art
Gallery at 5 Evans Street, Inverell by 14th April 2006.
- No limit to number of works entered.
- All entries in Section 1 & 2 inclusive must be for
sale.
- Commission of 44% (non-members) and 33% (members)
will apply to all works sold.
- All entries must be clearly marked on back with
artists name, title of work, sale price and section.
- Freight to and from the exhibition is the
responsibility of the exhibitor.
- all entries to remain o display for the length of
the Exhibition and can be collected after 30th April
2006.
- The Inverell art Gallery will exercise all
reasonable care in handling the works submitted, but
works will be at the risk of the entrant and the Society
shall not be liable for loss or damage.
- Every endeavour will be made to exhibit all entries
but the Society reserves the right to determine which
entries will be exhibited.
